I finally just bought the NYM mousse and I've never had good results with ANY type of mousse in the past. But I'm really hoping this will work. The NYM Curl Talk leave-in nourishing conditioner in my all time Holy Grail, so now I'm looking for that extra hold activating styler for my 2b/c wavies. My hair is still very long and a lot like yours, so I just had to stop by. I tried the Cake Curl friend cream, but it was horrible on my hair. Greasy shea butter doesn't work for me. I've noticed which ingredients my hair seems to like and dislike so after almost 2 years, I think 🤔, I'm still trying to find my stylers. The last mousse I tried was Maui Foaming mousse and it's sooo sticky, never dries down, and leaves hair frizzy. Of course, my Holy Grail styler was OGX sea salt texture spray, but they just had to discontinue it. I could cry. Anyway, thanks for the demos. Really hope I can get the same beachy mermaid texture with the NYM mousse 🧜🏻‍♀️ that I get with the salt spray.(when it runs out, that's it 😐)

What made you step away from the Living Proof dry shampoo? I needed a new dry shampoo at some point and bought it after your recommendation. I kind of liked how light-weight the effect was but I bought the mini and went through it pretty fast. Used to have a different brand that was a bit stronger so also gave me more volume which was nice on day 3 (I'm also someone who doesn't do any sort of heatstyling or blowdrying to my waves). I'm kind of hesitating buying Living Proof again or moving onto something else. Anyway I'm always curious to see what you go with, always like your routines and recommendations!

I relate so much to this. Thinking my hair was just poofy and frizzy. Girls would come to school with wet hair and it would dry perfectly straight and I was always like 😮

your hair really is getting so long! also if you want a bit more volume you can try a foam at the roots if you feel like experimenting. i love using it on my lengths after plopping for extra definition, shine, and volume. I don’t know how adventurous you are with hair styles but if you ever want to challenge yourself you can try a four or five strand braid to mix it up if you feel like it!

I've been experiencing a bad or altered batch of all my good products a LOT lately. I've been devoted to cgm or wgm for a year and a half. 2b/c here. I love the Curl Talk line too, but the cream just doesn't hold for me on its own. They discontinued my sea salt texture spray from OGX which was great in conjunction with the NYM leave-in conditioner. (Tried NYM Beach Babe dead sea salt spray but it destroyed my hair; my skin and hair don't mesh well with dead sea salt or minerals.) But I recently also switched over to Maui Moisture (blue) Coconut milk conditioner for detangling purposes and it's extra greasy, this recent batch. The last had zero slip. Before that one, it was balanced. Everything is changing. It's ridiculous. I really want to just stick to what works, but I also have very hard water and live in the deep South Texas humidity and heat, so every wash is going to be different. It's super frustrating. I haven't cut my hair in 3 years. And won't for a while. But if I could find a detangling rinse, that would be great. Was alternating with NYM Curl Talk bonding shampoo and conditioner which is great, but the shampoo can be very toxic- the fragrance I mean. Otherwise, it's excellent. I'm still struggling. Yes, I plop, diffuse, all that. but the detangling is a pain since I have a bad back. And when I style, I style upside down flipped over. I guess I need to explore more options. Thinking of trying Curlsmith volume line. Or Eva NYC. I really just want a good one and done curl cream with great hold(Cake Beauty is too greasy as it contains Shea butter and it doesn't work for my hair either). But OGX changed their formula and it's crap now. Very frustrating with all these formula changes or bad batches. My hair seems to come out more stringy lately when it used to spiral a lot more. I don't want to waste any more money. (High porosity, medium density, Caucasian Irish hair 🤷🏻‍♀️) Do you experience things like this?

Does the super milk make your hair greasy?

On the 2nd day. I feel there is a need of some brushing. As I have curls that tangles a lot. So what do u suggest brushing would help or everyone just skips the brushing part. Checked so many videos but none of the them talk about brushing. Pls help

I so relate and agree. I don’t buy the list you mentioned either. I’ve been using up what I have and switching to clean non toxic beauty products.

Something I should have mentioned: I still use the Bedhead hairspray occasionally that I’ve talked about the last while and yes it’s aerosol. This has been one of the harder ones for me but since I don’t use it too often like a dry shampoo, I’ll wait until I find a good non aerosol hairspray. Let me know if you have suggestions 👇 nothing too wet feeling (a fine mister) and preferably with a hold that’s still touchable
